What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning is here with a couple of the most typical A/C problems in Naples.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your air conditioning system running but there isn’t cool air blowing, you could need to have your refrigerant levels evaluated. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air blowing from your air conditioner is actually cool. Call Service Experts and we’ll come out and check your refrigerant levels and look into why your AC system is not blowing cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

One reason your condenser fan isn’t rotating could be that it simply burned out and you need to replace the fan. Humidity could cause more condensation so an additional problem to watch for is that the water is not draining right or that the drain is blocked. If you can verify these things, you may be able to find the problem; if not, give Service Experts a call and we can look into what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and go over your options to get your system working again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try lowering the temperature on your thermostat. It sounds silly but sometimes we neglect the obvious. If that doesn’t get your system cooling, inspect the air filter. If the air filter is dirty, it could cause huge cooling problems. Another problem that could cause your lack of cooling is that your air conditioner is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a common issue when homes are constructed. Service Experts will come out and conduct an analysis to determine if the size of your system is causing your issues.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your system is short cycling, or turning on or off constantly, it could mean one of several things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and requires cleaning. Once the system is cleaned and all obstructions removed, you may be all set. Keep in mind that humidity also plays a piece so if your home cools to the desired temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to warm back up, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because the system is having to work harder to keep your home cool.
