Painting Vans Pink in the Fight Against Breast Cancer

September 27, 2016

In October 2016, two Service Experts centers will be turning heads with pink vans. Fras-Air/General Service Experts and Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning of Raleigh are both going to paint two of their work vans pink for the fight against breast cancer.

During the month of October, Fras-Air/General Service Experts will be contributing 20% of all sales from their pink vans to Summit-based Susan G. Komen chapter to help raise money to help fight breast cancer. Service Experts of Raleigh will be contributing 5% of all sales from their pink vans and also donate $10 for every Precision tune-up to their local chapter, Susan G. Komen North Carolina Triangle to the Coast.

This is the second October Fras-Air/General Service Experts has painted two of their vans pink to raise money for Susan G. Komen. In 2015, Fras-Air raised over $7,000 for Komen North Jersey. General Manager David Schneider and one of his workers both lost their mothers to alternative forms of cancer and were inspired to help other families.

“The National Cancer Institute said that 107,184 women in New Jersey suffered from breast cancer in 2016,” Schneider explained. “While the number of cases is actually decreasing each year, that still constitutes a large number of families who are struggling with this disease, and there is still a serious need for research and support.”

Service Experts of Raleigh’s General Manager, Chris Overton, echoed Schneider’s sentiments. “As stated by the North Carolina State Center for Health Statistics, breast cancer is the leading type of cancer in the state – for women and men.”
